7 years down the line, a wedding brought together a mini reunion. It brought together classmates who parted in high school. It brought together memories of a time not so long ago. It brought together scattered pictures of the times we had together. Of the way we all were.
And here we were- 7 years later- Looking sharper than ever. The short were yet short (Yours Truly!)..The tall standing high..Had time really re-written every single line?
We hadn’t seen each other in ages- But i guess not much has changed. We chattered into the night..oblivious of the 7 years in between. We caught up right where we left. We sang. We danced. We even dined together! We wished the newly wedded pair a splendid journey- one the rest but one of us had ventured not.
We hugged each other in that August night. We shared a few memories. We re-told a few class jokes. We remembered. In that moment, we were 16 again.
This time machine had done us wonders. We were young for the night.
This was the way we were. This is the way we will always be.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sail. Explore. dream. Discover. ” Mark Twain
